Get it right once and it lasts a generation.

Tell us how long it has to run
How many names a year and how many years you want before it needs extending. That single answer picks the size, and it is the one most clubs get wrong by choosing too small.

We set the layout once
Title ribbon, plate size, typeface and spacing locked in as the board’s standard, then held on file under your club or school’s name.

You approve the proof
Nothing is engraved until you sign off the layout and the spelling. On a perpetual award a mistake sits on the wall for years, so this step is not a formality.

We engrave and fit
Plates engraved in our own workshop and fitted to the board, or sent to you ready to mount if the board is already on the wall.

Next year, send one name
Same plate, same typeface, same spacing. The new one should be indistinguishable from the one above it apart from the year.

Buy for the twentieth name, not the first.
The commonest mistake on a perpetual award is buying the board that suits this year’s single winner. Five seasons on it is full, the club buys a second one, and the record is split across two boards that do not match.
Work out how many names a year the award will carry, multiply it out, and buy the size that holds it. Heights below are the shield range as stocked.

What to work out before you order.
A perpetual award is the one purchase where the decisions are hard to undo, because the thing stays on the wall long after everyone who chose it has moved on.

How many years it has to hold
Names per year multiplied by the years you want before it needs extending. Buying one size up costs less than buying a second board later.
Material
Timber, glass or acrylic
Timber is the clubroom standard and takes plates well for decades. Glass and acrylic suit an office wall, but they are a poor answer for something that will gain twenty plates.
Wording
What the title ribbon says
The award’s name, and nothing that will date. Sponsors change, competitions get renamed, and the ribbon is the part nobody replaces.

What logo file to send
Vector artwork engraves sharpest at plate size. If all you have is the logo off your website, send it anyway — we’ll tell you whether it will hold up.

Can you add a name to a board you didn’t make?
Yes, and it is a good part of what we do. Photograph the board straight on with a ruler laid beside the existing plates and send it through. We work the plate size, typeface and spacing back off the photograph so the new name sits in the run rather than announcing itself.
What happens when the shield runs out of room?
You extend it rather than replace it. Side shields at 40mm each run down either side of the board and take one name apiece, and a centre shield or a second board carrying the same title keeps the record continuous. Tell us which board you have and we’ll tell you what it takes.
Do you make honour boards?
Not as a stock product. What we do stock is the perpetual shield and plaque range, which is how most clubs run a continuous honour record — a titled board that gains a plate a year and extends with side shields. If you have a full honour board in mind, ring us and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it before you go looking elsewhere.
Is the engraving included?
Yes — engraving is free on the awards we sell. Send the names and the award title, we set the plates out, email you a digital proof, and fit them before the board ships. Nothing is engraved until you have signed the proof off.
What is the difference between a perpetual plaque and a perpetual shield?
Shape and how it grows. A shield is the traditional clubroom form and extends outward with side shields as it fills. A plaque is a flat rectangular board that fills in rows — usually more names in the same wall space, and easier to hang in a school corridor or an office.
Can we get a plaque for one person to keep?
Yes. Logo plaques from 150mm to 230mm, and the corporate and floating plaques, are all made to be handed over rather than hung in a clubroom. Life membership, a retiring committee member, a sponsor thank-you and long-service recognition are what they are usually for.
Do you supply memorial or cemetery plaques?
No. We make award and recognition plaques — club, school and workplace. Memorial and cemetery plaques are cast to different standards by different suppliers, and we would rather say so than take an order we cannot do properly.
How long does a perpetual award take?
It depends on stock, on how many plates are being cut and on whether we are matching an existing board. Tell us your presentation date when you enquire and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable — before you order, not after.
What does a shield or plaque cost?
It moves with the size, the material and how many plates are being engraved, so a real number needs the specifics. Send the award name, roughly how many years it has to hold and your presentation date, and you will get a written quote rather than a range.
Do you deliver Australia-wide?
Yes, Australia-wide. Orders are engraved in our own workshop in Shepparton, Victoria, and regional and interstate clubs are most of what we ship.
